I didn’t realize people still use the word “docents”.

I didn’t realize people still use the word “docents”.

Docents are volunteers who work in museums assisting the public. The Nixon Library maintains a robust docent program. Volunteers lead tours or assist visitors in the galleries. At least some of the other presidential libraries, including Reagan's, also make use of volunteer docents. However, I didn't see any when I visited Kennedy's library.
