Wow, those poor California State workers. Why, they must not have gotten any performance based raises, or cost of living increases, or pay raises for promotions... I mean, since the computer payroll system is apparently incapable of changing anyone's salary down to the minimum, they must not have been able to process anyone's salary changes for any other reason, right?

This is total BS and bull. My very next act if I was Gov. S. would be to fire that guy for lying or gross incompetence. There is absolutely no reason people's salaries cannot be modified up or down. My company does it at least once a year for every single employee. Some get additional modifications throughout the year.

“There is absolutely no reason people’s salaries cannot be modified up or down.”

Technologically that is correct. However, you must remember these are government workers. Any cut in pay they would receive is only a stunt in the first place, and they know they will be getting paid their full amount plus cost of living increases no matter what happens. Government must be fed.

Believe me, here in CA’s San Fernando Valley, when the teacher union has someone who will to join (and wants to deduct union dues for their political campaigns) it suddenly happens - ASAP. The very next pay check. It’s all done electronically, and very “efficiently.”

It is only when only when you want “out” of union dues & membership — that they suddenly foot drag, ‘have problems” inputting it at the HR office, and yaddablah, etc.

This is BS, BS, BS.

Total corruption, under the guise of “IT” difficulties.

Sorry no can do ... One reason given by Controller John Chiang, a Democrat elected in 2006: An elected official can only be impeached by the legislature, most of whom are fellow democrats. California is an ice-cold stacked deck in favor of the Democrats, the districts being gerrymandered into non-competition.

If they can raise the pay, they can lower it.
