If Mitt Romney is anywhere near the next election, Obama wins.
RomneyCARE neutralizes ObamaCARE.
Romney support of illegals neutralizes Obama's.
Romney's parents of Mexican birth neutralize the Obama absent birth certificate issue.
Romney's destruction of Massachusetts neutralizes Obama's destruction of America.
Romney's destruction of the Mass. Constitution to impose gay marriage neutralizes Obama's destruction of the US Constitution.
And by making the carpetbagging backstabber the candidate,
given that Team Romney attacked Gov Palin during Election 2008 to throw the election to Obama,
most Americans would agree that the GOP would not deserve to win, anyway.

Why are Jindal and Barbour not criticizing for calling a state of emergency in Texas for a cat 2 storm that hit mexico while he is ignoring and thwarting rescue efforts in La and Mississippi?
Not to mention Alabama, Florida and Tennesse

While I am not a fan of Gov Goodhair, Rick Perry could be a contender.
I see his biggest problem as being from Texas, which could stick in the craw of folks who hate GWB

Did people seriously consider Scott Brown for president? He was fun for digging at democrats after winning the “Kennedy” seat. That was the whole of his existence though, and he’s proven that he’s a solid Massachusetts’ republican. LOL.

Mitt more influential than Palin? I don’t think so, and neither does Rick Santorum.

she is extremely popular within a relatively narrow swath of the Republican party and is not at all well regarded outside of that group -- especially among the Washington Republican chattering class. You mean the same Washington Republican chattering class that led to the party losing Congress in 2006 and the White House in 2008?
