In a case that takes parent-child squabbles to a new level, a Connecticut woman has won a lawsuit against her father after he refused to pay for her senior year of college. Following her parents' 2004 divorce, Dana Soderberg then an art major at Southern Connecticut State University procured a written agreement from her father that he would finance her education until she was 25. Her father counter-sued, saying his daughter broke the contract by failing to apply for student loans and providing him with receipts. A judge sided with the daughter, awarding her $47,000.

You can bet that the little witch is written out of his will now.Hope she thinks it was worth it.
If you are going to make an agreement, then make sure you put ALL the requirements down in writing, not just parts of it.
Sorry Dad, I would go with the daughter on this one.
Personally I don’t think it is the parents responsibility to pay for a child’s education. If they got the money and if they want to, great. But I don’t think parents should be forced to, nor do I think they should go into debt to pay for it.
Southern CT is a pretty cheap school. No way one year could possible cost anywhere NEAR $47,000.
OMG! spoiled rotten brat!
Ship her off to Saudi Arabia. I’m sure there is a Sheik looking for a 60th or 61st wife.
Another wonderful Feminista sticking it to the man.

It’s the matriculation fees, the clothing budget, alcohol budget, make up budget, latte budget, car budget, etc. when added up could come out to 47 Gs.
She was a teacher until March 2010 and got a pink slip? Guess Art Majors are not in high demand?
One way ticket to Iran
This upsets the natural order.
When she presented him with that “contract” to sign, he should have laughed in her twit face. And then told her that if she was behaving respectfully, and progressing at a reasonable pace, in a useful degree program,,,, then he would pay.
Can’t quite get my mind around her demanding a formal contract,,, or him signing it.
I went with the worthlessness of her degree and her liberal, shortsighted thinking.

99.99% of college seniors are well over the age of 18... time to be an adult and start appreciating all your parents have done for you to date.
Deadbeat “father” got what he deserved, should have hit him up for emotional suffering as well. Bas%$ards like him do not deserve to have children.
At age 18, my nephew took his bio-dad to court for back support payments so he could attend college. That was 20 years ago. He now has an MBA, is CEO of medical services company, has a nice home, a nice boat and very few debts.
Can’t tell how proud I feel for him.
You can be sure that she won’t get another nickel from Dad.On the flip side,he must be a miserable parent to produce a young adult child like her.
Obviously “Honor Thy Father” was not in her educational program.
