Not ever having seen or used food stamps, I have a question. What’s to prevent food stamp recipients from selling the food stamps to someone else for cash? What kind of ID is required for the redemption of food stamps?

Back when they were “food stamps”, you had to have a special ID to use them. Nowadays, they are debit cards. You know the code, you can use it.

Most states have EBT debit cards now. They would have to sell the card along with the PIN. If they went to get a new card the old one would be disabled.

What kind of ID is required for the redemption of food stamps? There is no way to stop a food stamp recipient from doing grocery shopping for another person, and then getting cash for the food. The food stamp program should be abolished.
