Two words. Martial Law. That is the key to who winds up in charge, and they will have blue helmet help, count on it.
That very well may be their intent. If so, their hand may be forced by the fact that it looks like Obama will be consigned to the dung heap of history after one term. At this point it seems very unlikely that he'd win a second term. Obviously things may change (unlikely) or they may be able to sufficiently cheat as to override any voter response, although too far and it becomes very obvious. So that being said, if there was going to be martial law in response to some "Reichstag" type event (which I expect will be blamed on the Tea Party) it'll have to be within the next 2 1/2 years.
