Is that a verifiable fact? I ask because Lindsey is much more intelligent than his senate husband.

New York Times....he told them.
” After tossing out a few if-I-can-make-it-anyone-can references to his humble beginnings as a pool-hall owners son in Central, S.C., and his 800 combined SAT score, the senator fell into his message du jour:
That is pathetic. I thought only football and basketball players could do this ;-)

He fooled me, I thought sure he would sell us out-and it isnt over yet. Agreed. I admit I thought for sure he was helping her through, the way he was advising her prior to the hearings.
But, as you say, it's not over yet.

I also hope he convinces the rest. But even if they filibuster we can’t stop her nomination can we?? It is a question, because I have really wanted to know.

Yes, I think they can stop her, if all 41 stand together.

Hmmm. So much for test scores, huh? The man is how old? Almost 55, IIRC. He has a fairly sharp mind, with moments of brilliance, which is the reason I find him so damn reprehensible. He actually knows he's doing wrong.

It is moot anyways. More Dems in the Senate than Republicans. She could be stopped in Committee if no Republican votes for her. The only reason we have Sotomayor is that Lindseeeeey caved. All the other GOP senators on the Judiciary Committee voted nay. Her nomination would have failed if he had stuck to his guns and done the same.
Betcha we see a repeat performance. Makes me sick.

Perhaps someone here knows definitively? I would like to think you are right, and we can start pressuring them.

She can be stopped in the Judiciary Committee if no Republican votes for her. She must have one vote from the minority party.
It will be Flimsy Grahamnesty, just like with Sotomayor.

I'm right. She can be filibustered with 41, but she can also be stopped in the Judiciary Committee and never make it to the full senate for a vote.

Thanks Orin. Now, convince the rest of your side of the aisle. The RINO Maine sisters won't go for it, and Kagan is probably McCain's "good friend."

Absolutely, Hatch must not be planning to retire in 2012, as would seem his sensible approach. He is still waiting for Bill Clinton to “come clean”! Bennett, however, is free to vote for Kagan.
To: moose2004
Hasn’t “Lovable Lindsey” already endorsed her? He is such an embarrassment to SC that no other election decision by those voters means anything.
