This was the headline of my local paper (Albuquerque Journal) this Morning - in bold print - main headline! Martinez is the DA running against the democrat Denish (current Lt Governor under Bill Richardson). It would be a disaster if Denish becomes our state's next governor.

As soon as I saw this headline, I went to the Martinez web site and made a second contribution.

Folks, in addition to contributions to New Mexico candidates, this is the first election where I have made contributions to candidates outside my own state (NC, AZ, NV, just to name a few). If you live in New Mexico (or even if you don't, but just want to help elect more Republicans this November), then please consider a donation of whatever you can manage for Susana Martinez. Here is a link to here Donation Page:

Susana Martinez

I'm hoping enough Freepers will see this and 1) donate and 2) send the link to all your friends and encourage them to forward the link to their friends and donate as well. A 7-to-1 advantage is just too much and we need to help Susana turn that around! She can win this election, but my fellow New Mexicans - we must help her all we can!

I heard Mrs. Martinez speak on the radio yesterday. I was VERY impressed. She made the point that although dems outnumber Republicans 3 to 1 in NM, many of the Hispanics hold Republican values. She used to be a dem until someone explained to her and her husband the difference of values in the two parties and they realized that they were actually Republicans. She can help fellow Hispanics see the light as well. She’s the real deal.

The obvious difference is that Martinez just finished a competitive primary, where she spent the money she'd raised, while Denish did not have a primary and has been hoarding cash.

Plenty of time to make up lost ground, and the primary win was great for Martinez.

I’d like some Freeper opinion as to why all the GOP’s most promising are women? (this is a legitimate question, not a complaint :-)

Don’t be surprised if the RGA starts to pump money and resources into this race. It was rumored it was the RGA who got Palin involved in this race.

She was on the Laura Ingraham show the other day and I was hoping that would boost her fundraising somewhat. Laura put a link to Martinez’s website and encouraged her listeners to help. Maybe some biggies like Hannity and/or Beck could help out if she gets on their shows.

they are outsiders and the outsiders have an advantage over the deziens of DC.

Snow and Collins are not “prommissing”

fiorina is not “promissing”

whitless is not “promissing”

Whitman tried to be the un-palin but that only got her un-invited to the party.

Actually, Mrs. Martinez did. She is very articulate. NM would do well to vote her in as their governor.

I think it’s because women are FED UP with these RINOs and we’re finally taking matters into our own hands. After waiting and waiting for the men already elected to man up and do what’s right, women have decided to get the job done themselves.

Her actions speak louder than her words. She will be savaged by dems and the press, just like Sarah and Nikki, they are living proof of their beliefs.

I dont know, Coburn, congressman Ryan, Demint, Thune, Toomey and Bobby Jindal seem to be doing pretty good. Did you see that Haley Barbour raised a record amount for the RGA? Chris Christy is doing pretty well in NJ.

Hugh Hewitt posed that question to his audience several weeks ago and got some interesting answers. The best was that women are often the home managers—they get everyone where they need to go and they balance the family checkbook. They have plenty of hands-on experience with the education system, etc. That practical experience is motivating them to bring that personal experience to the political realm since the people there now are messing up so badly. I thought it was a good insight.

I have also made small contributions (they add up) to conservatives outside my home state of Colorado. I agree, we must do this.

Thanks for the Susana Martinez heads up.

all that managment talk is BS. It is simply that they are not RINOs.

Why did rubio knock out crist (who now has another donor rocked by a fraud scandal. from palm beach)?

Smaller government, lower taxes, family meams family not recreational sex partners. Those are the reasons that RINO will not and can not articulate.

The DC people think this is just a passing fad and at the end of the day they will sill be in DC. The DC staffers are not worried at all.

even if a “palin” is elected, she will end up hiring the same old low level DC liberal staffers.
