I was going to condense the (ugh) president’s speech “get those illegals registered to vote” but you did a good job of it before me.

I forced myself to watch Skippy’s speech, all of it. Although it upsets me greatly to have to continually listen to his BS, it’s necessary for me to hear this stuff right from the donkey’s mouth. I don’t want some talking head taking on the role of interpreter.

Of course his non-specific generalities, half-truths, and outright lies were infuriating enough. What I really found irritating was his demeanor and delivery. I felt like I was being lectured by a grade school principal after being caught out on the playground after lunch. That, and his predictable swipes at the Bush administration (hey - campaign’s over - you won, remember?).

I think it was the old Pogo comic strip that had a senator character who’s speech was always shown in a dramatic, overblown mixture of outrageous fonts. Like the cartoon character, Skippy seems to think that the more he pontificates on a subject, the more this will create actual reality.

Personally, my ears have gotten very sore. And every time he opens his mouth, it confirms that there’s less and less substance backing up his words. How stupid does he think we are? More and more people are catching on to this one trick pony. And that trick gets more tiresome with every repetition.
