My high school teammate Dennis Shaw was AFC rookie of the year in 1970. Came out of SD State. I went to all of his games one season. They had dropped out of their old conference and suddenly had 9 home games, rushing to fill the schedule.

The Utah St. game was played in the fog. At least that's what we saw from the middle rows. Dennis was firing the ball anyway. They could see better at ground level. Dennis had a rifle arm but he was firing the ball before the receivers made their cuts. High completion rate and 7 TDs in one game. He explained timing patterns to me, the basis for Air Coryell.

Saw all nine home games, even though we drove a bit with no freeqay I-15 at that time. We ate free buffet with the team on Sunday mornings.

Thanx Coach!
