Same here. The only time in my life when I followed football was the years in San Diego with Air Coryell, Chuck Muncie, Dan Fouts, Louie Kelcher and of course, Dan (Stan?) Lietner — the news talking head who was such a trip to watch.

The great Charger - Raiders rivalry of the time...

I believe you mean Ted Leitner (sp?).

I attended SDSU in 77-79. From what I remember (the tailgating parties at “The Murph” were epic) SDSU had a great football team and lost only one game each season to BYU (I’ll have to verify this).

I think you are talking about Ted Lietner! He was Channel 8 sports.....I think his gig is now Padre announcer.
