Gibbs says passage of immigration reform hinges on GOP

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said that the Senate could pass comprehensive immigration reform legislation if Republicans would cooperate.

Gibbs made his comments after President Barack Obama delivered a speech on the need for immigration reform in Washington, D.C., earlier in the day. Gibbs responded to a question about the timeline for a bill to be considered.

"I think where there is a will, there is a way," he said at his daily press briefing. "If there is a will among Democrats and Republicans, specifically Republicans, then there is a way."

I spoke too soon. Fox makes mistakes here and there but I wouldn’t call them “idiots”. They’re fighting for the very existence of America by reporting the truth, and they’re all we have. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you truth

Fox News is pro-Illegal Alien Amnesty....so I doubt it was a “mistake”. Fox News is so pro-illegal....in the Ramos and Compean frameup (when they were comvicted for shooting an illegal alien drug dealer)....Fox supportede the illegal alien drug dealer.

Fox News is a supporter of amnesty....do not be fooled by their “faux conservatism”

No it doesn’t Gibbs. You commies can pass it tomorrow and the GOP could not stop it.

Sometimes being the majority sucks. But we all know you want to blame it on the GOP.

Thank you. You heard it here first. LOL. My other claim to fame is “Obammunist”. “Obama Zombies” is great.. I wish I would’ve thought of that. It best summarizes the world of delusional idiots I can’t believe I’m waking up to everyday. Can’t wait for November to get here, although I think Osama Bin Laden is waiting in the wings in the White House basement for the “October surprise”.

What he’s really saying is:’We don’t have the votes to pass this steaming pile, so we’ll just blames the Republicans for it’s failure.

I would like to think so too. I am afraid if amnesty comes up, he will be right. Not all rats will vote for it but enough repugnicans will to make it law . How many GOPoops are going to vote to confirm this Kagan person knowing full well she does not support the Constitution?

The Republican party demise and the rise of the Tea Party did not start with the Obama bailouts and the Santelli rant on CNN in February 2009.

It started in 2006-2007 when against the wishes of nearly all the Republican base (but NOT the elite RINO leadership) Bush, Rove, McCain, and Graham tried to jam amnesty down the throats of Americans.

“See you at the signing” gloated Bush. “You hate brown people” scolded Rove. “We’ll shut up the bigots” said Lindsey Lightloafer. And McCain paired up with Teddy Kennedy to make 20 million new democrat voters out of criminal illegal aliens.

That’s when the revolt started, when the American conservative majority which normally found refuge in the remnants of the Reagan Republican Party realized that no one was now looking out for them. That’s when millions of just average Americans melted down the switchboards on Capitol Hill and scared even some democrats to back off the amnesty obsession.

Everything that happened since then to pull the gift of political power from the Republicans - TARP, bailouts, spending, earmarks, pork - just made the Republican Party fall even farther from voter favor. The Tea Party was the refuge for those who saw the government no longer represented them, and the last suitor they trusted -Republicans - had dumped them.

The only hope that Republicans have to return to power is learn from their mistakes and arrogance. But already too many of them are on the cusp to return to their bad habits of ignoring the will of the people, and the immigration amnesty bill be their test. And Obama is counting on them to fall for the cheap labor siren calls of the Wall Street Journal and the Chamber of Commerce to help him get his amnesty.

If even ONE Republican supports Obama’s amnesty plan, those same people they betrayed before will turn on them again and they can kiss the majority good-bye.

That’s all it will take - just ONE McCain, Graham, Snowe, Brown, Flake, to support Obama’s amnesty and the Republican masquerade will be exposed.

Should the not-so-useful idiots in Congress pass amnesty, CW2 is just around the corner. Too many people will have had enough of the picking of their financial pockets by the government just so some lazy, shiftless welfare sucking parasite can sit around all day and watch Jerry Springer. Add 20 million more to the mix, and a
ALL bets are off.

Maybe it is because their staff reads the mail and handles the phones, but these congress critters really don't know how angry people are. Hatch better just go straight to K street , do not pass through Utah .

Well of course if the GOP works with the demonic-rats they can do anything. The government could seal the border if the GOP and mainly the demonic-rats agree to do so.
