President Barack Obama on Thursday blamed immigration policy gridlock on "political posturing and special interest wrangling."
In a speech Thursday, Obama took Republicans to task, in particular 11 GOP senators who supported recent efforts to improve the immigration system. He did not name any in particular, but told his largely supportive audience at American University that those lawmakers had succumbed to the "pressures of partisanship and election-year politics."

Someone needs to clue in the kenyan usurper that "politics" in this case is the will of the people, and the people don't want illegal immigrants or AMNESTY!
At first glance it looks like his hands are on fire.
I cannot openly express the reaction which that photo evokes.
This, the naturalization or amnesty of millions of illegals, is clearly going to be the crowning effort of 0bama’s continuing destruction of the country. The slathering BS coming out of this idiot’s mouth is astounding. It’s only going to get more intense.
Obama blames politics for delay on immigration
hey obozo....the laws are in place....tell your depts to get off their asses and enforce the laws....no political posturing needed....
This piece of excrement KNOWS the PEOPLE DO NOT WANT THIS.
I think doing nothing is more responsible for the delay in immigration reform.
“Election-year politics”? He was elected over a year and a half ago. If he is talking about the November elections, he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. He’s going to loose all support in November. Since he was elected, he has done nothing to control the border. I believe all the additional personnel sent to the border were scheduled to do so prior to his election.
As for control of the border, he should enforce the existing laws. Then he would find out what works and doesn’t work. To start over is a waste of time and energy and will accomplish nothing and he knows it.
As for immigration, it was used in our past to build this country into what it is today. As of now, we are over 330 million strong. We really don’t require millions of new immigrants. Immigrants should be allowed into our country as we need them and a limit put on the quantity per year.
Representative government is an anathema to “progressives”.
Are those big boogers he just pulled out of his nose?
Looks more and more like Ceasescu giving his final speech every time out.
All that’s missing is the fur cap and the bodyguards running from the scene.
Yep, the sort of “politics” where 70%+ of US citizens oppose what some in Washington want to do.
This is the same stance as Saddam Hussein!
This DAMN FOOL STILL doesn't know what his job is after two years. I don't think he ever understood the power and limitations of the Office. He has the same ignorant Ghetto mentality that the President is a King who do whatever he wants, which isn't true. He really wants a Politburo to rubber-stamp his agenda. Damn commie dictator.
I completely agree. In my opinion, we need a time-out until things are cleaned up. Europe is learning the hard-way about essentially unrestricted immigration (some of it forced on them by the EU via anyone who claims they need "amnesty").
Whatever the number of illegals here is, multiply our “new citizens” by at least a factor of four as the ones given amnesty now “sponsor” mom, dad, aunt, uncle and anybody else still down there so they can come up and get on the gravy train as well. Oh yeah, bring up “gramma and grampa” and immediately put them on our already tottering Social Security system.
This latest pontification is only another oratory exercise which does not rise above the level of a ‘campaign’ speech.
He is so nowhere, trying to be everywhere.
At least he included himself!!!
