This supposed idyllic family sounds more and more like a very troubled broken home.

Am I supposed to already know who these people are?

This family is the one with the kid who supposedly disappeared from the elementary school science fair in the Seattle area.

Well, Silverback, commenting would help clear up just who the heck these people are. Because you did not say.
And Mojito did that. Although it still doesn’t ring a bell.

Sorry, Silverback.

From the very start, I suspected the step mother.

There was a reference to step-mon calling in a doctor’s appt. for Kyron for June 4th (premeditation). She backtracked and told the teacher that she had made a mistake and it was June 11th. A check of the doctor’s appointment calendar would solve that dispute.
Also - there was a report that Kyron’s bio mother had to leave him only 3 days after his birth to receive medical care in Canada; which is when her *friend* stepped in to take care of Kyron and Kaine.
There was also a report that Terri’s own 16 year-old son had complained about Kaine Horman, his step-dad - and was sent to live with his bio-dad.
It’s possible that Kyron began to realize the dysfunction in his family. Did he miss, or was he scared of his step-brother? Had he ever threatened to run away from home? Did he just leave school - got lost and presented a target for a child predator.
That cast of *family* characters is so confusing - all those poor little kids probably have no clue who to turn to.

The bigger question is; Are we supposed to care?

I suppose you already know this, but when I was doing a news search about the death Senator Amy Klobuchar's stepsister, there's reports that yesterday at the place where JACOB WETTERLING disappeared around 20 years ago, that FBI & LEOs dug up a farm right where his brother and a young friend last saw him, and they carted lots of barrels of SOMETHING away.
Jacob Wetterling!
After all these years!

I check into Nancy Grace at least once a week, just to see the faces of the missing kids — you just never know if you may ever run across one of these poor little children.

Thanks HP - I found a similar article doing research. Also remembered Jon Gosch - one of the first abductions of a young boy (think he may have had a paper route).
These cases are so horrifying. After speculating and becoming obsessed with wanting to see these mysteries solved - I have to remind myself this is REAL LIFE and these are innocent children, not a movie.
kind thoughts.

I was simply so astounded when Joran van der Sloot after FIVE years was finally behind bars for a serious crime; but to imagine that this case which you'd think had been gone over with a fine tooth comb 400 million times, that they MUST have
*new* information after 20-some years, it's simply shocking.
I hope they clear up this mystery for the family, and for all people who have been concerned about these horrendous disappearances of young kids.
I'll have to check out Websleuths one of these days and find out what the new evidence or the new tip was.

I guess I’m supposed to be interested but the more I read the less interested I am.
