It is truly sad and disgusting to see how the NRA has sold out over the past half-dozen years. They were truly a great organization when they were the only group with the cajones to take on Billy Boy the Rapist and his gang of thugs in the 90s.

FReeper NRA members need to make their feelings known, including canceling their memberships if necessary and joining GOA instead. We have a golden opportunity to get rid of Dingy Harry and replace him with a true conservative.

Don't let the NRA sell you out!

Time to withdraw support from the NRA. They have gotten lost in the wilderness. I don’t suppose they noticed the other day that LIBERAL justices said there is no right to bear arms. (They lost, but that was their position.)

Therefore, any policy that looks only at the individual politician and not also at the party they support is terribly misguided and ultimately sure to deprive Americans of their right to self-defense.

Reid helped confim Sotomayor to the bench recently. I’m not under the impression that he’s favorable toward gun-rights justices. And he is now trying to help ram through another gun-grabbing judge — Kagan. If the NRA is this bass-ackwards, they deserve a major boycott of contributions. People can give to Angle instead.

Oh yeah one other thing...

Didja see this?

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/07/01/shootout-drug-migrant-trafficking-gangs-near-border-leaves-dead-598299465/

Didja hear zero talking yesterday about searching all SOUTHBOUND trains going to Mexico, but not saying what was being searched for?

Guess what Zero's gonna use as a pretext for his next offensive on gun control AND for amnesty?

Care to place any bets as to where the NRA will stand when he does?

There is a lot of tinfoil hattery about some of the posts on this thread.

IMO it's pretty simple.

The bigger the threat to gun rights, the bigger the opportunities for NRA to troll for contributions and increase its budget.

Not much different from NASA and global warming.

Great screen name Ogie - buy you a soda after the game??

Does anyone out there have any real information on this, or is this just another example of the anti-NRA crowd freaking out from the latest scuttlebutt from the rumor mill?

I just got off the phone with a fellow at the NRA-ILA, and he stated flatly that the NRA has not taken any official position whatsoever yet, either pro or con. I did advise them that they better do something quick, the operative principle being here that people react ten times more quickly and strongly to the negative than the positive, true or not.

The NRA has responded in a similar fashion about the rumors they were facing about SCOTUS nominee Kagan; I strongly suggested they do the same about Reid, and fast.

I just called the NRA at 1-800-392-8683 and punched 4 so I could speak to a person.

I told them that if they endorsed Harry Reid, I would cancel my membership, ask for a refund, and promote joining alternative organizations at my gun club (since membership in the NRA is one of the few requirements for joining.)

I wrote the NRA and received the same generic response that has been posted several times in this thread. I wrote them back and assured them they would lose members if they endrosed Reid so they're well aware of the consequences if they do. In my case, they'll be choosing a leftist asswipe over a 15+ year Life Member who HAD planned to bequeath them my entire estate (I am childless).

A sell out is a sell out. And any group that calls itself "pro-gun" cannot endorse a dirtbag like Reid w/o it being just that. Bastards.

They do the very same thing at the state-level...

They sell-out principled gun rights supporters. For example, in Kentucky, the Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act, is a very good pro-gun bill. Even though certain state officials wouldn’t sponsor it, such as Leslie Combs, they still endorse these sell-out politicians against pro-gun challengers.
