Some military specialists suspect that China's failure to accept the findings of an international panel on the sinking of the South Korean coastal patrol ship in March is related to Beijing's probable foreknowledge of North Korean submarine movements.
“I would suspect that either the PRC has on-site knowledge of DPRK submarines from a presence at their base or their own underwater monitoring systems in the Yellow Sea and East China Sea,” said one expert.
“If their was the slightest indication of either foreknowledge or complicity it would hurt PRC standing in the international community.”
China also has a close relationship with the North Korean military dating from the Korean War and has been a supplier, both overtly and covertly, of key weapons systems and military technology.
Another Asian security specialist said China’s refusal to recognize the North Korean role in the Cheonan is a bad omen, and requires a tough U.S. stance toward China’s failure.
“Either we stand tall with the Republic of Korea or forever China will set the terms and conditions for all future Asian strategic issues,” the specialist said, noting that “China has and is giving succor to a murderous regime in Pyongyang.”

I’ve suspected this all along. China has ALWAYS held the leash of North Korea. Kim doesn’t pee without Beijing what pot he’s going in. If the Norkies sank the South Koreans ship, it was most likely because China gave them permission to. Had that NOT been the case, Kim would already be pushing up daisies somewhere on a lonely hillside in nowhere North Korea and his “replacement ruler” would be running North Korea even further into the dirt.

That maybe true, but I doubt that the Chinese were intimately involved in the decision process of sinking that South Korean ship.
There is a high probablilty that they knew all the details from the North Korean Military.
Totally agree. I find it highly doubtful (nigh impossible) that the Chinese did not know, prior to the incident, of what their little rabid puppy planned to do. Fully agree.

Think Tank jobs are not cushy. They spend a lot of time reading reports, anyalsis, and write many reports to defense officials.
