The American consumer is the raping and murdering foreign cultures, mustached Aubrey told me while jabbing a finger in my chest
The Conversation would have ended here for me when i grabbed “Aubrey’s” finger..twisted it... then told him to get a job...pull up “his” pants...and grow up.....LOL

They treated a debate on Trotsky with the same severity as a conversation about vests. The topics collided into one another with no starting or stopping point and no resolution, just vague knowledge on the subjects and extreme but generalized opinions seemed to be enough for them. I desperately wanted us to be friends.
LOL!!

Great post.
A buddy at work went to SXSW this year in Austin. (I lived there as a kid, but mostly grew up in D/FW)
I shook my head and explained that’s not my scene. He acknowledged that as truth.
He slept on the floor along with 12 other people at a buddies place in..Prepare to be shocked...South Austin.
Damn Dirty Hippies.
(Can’t wait to go home in a few weeks, but I’ll be down where the normal people live. Round Rock)

Nihilism is what the left (and their ideological father) promotes.
The result of nihilism (meaninglessness of life) is the devaluing of the individual human (imageo dei) in favor of empowering the “perpetuity” of the State.
Exactly what the left and Satan desire.

Donny: Are these the Nazis, Walter?
Walter Sobchak: No, Donny, these men are nihilists. There’s nothing to be afraid of.

John Barth wrote a hilarious novel (whose name I have on the tip of my tongue) about a guy who spends the day preparing to commit suicide, but is so overcome with nihilism that he can’t bring himself to do it.

The college know it all hippies are the worst.
Nothing worse than someone who thinks he’s intellectually and morally superior and stinks of BO and hemp.

Precisely. And the outcomes? Slaughter, mass murder, enslavement and impoverishment: hell on earth.
