Bristol Palin - actress?
You be the judge.
The daughter of one-time GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is making her acting debut, with an appearance set for Monday on The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Bristol Palin will convey a positive message about teen pregnancy. At 19, she might be the most famous unwed mother in the United States. Her son, Tripp, was born in December 2008 (ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston is the dad).
"Bristol Palin makes a special appearance as herself as one of Amy (Shailene Woodley)'s friends at a music program for teen mothers in New York," a statement said.
Palin taped her appearance on the show in March.
A clip of her close-up circulated recently, and, although an Emmy might not be forthcoming, she did know her lines:
"We're all teen moms and musicians," she tells the Woodley character. "This program is for teen moms."

This is a bad idea. It gives Libs an excuse to rip into her again. Now they will claim she is putting herself in the spotlight and thus, their attacks are OK.
OK, I'll bite. What positive message can be conveyed about unwed teen aged pregnancy?
DON”T DO IT!! THAT”S the MESSAGE!!!
It’s pro-life. Some teens might have gotten an abortion.
I agree—bad idea.
‘It gives Libs an excuse to rip into her again’
They will attack,regardless....it’s part of the lefts agenda..
argh
This family, rightly or wrongly, looks like a bad reality show. Can’t Mom do something about this?
The positive message is that you will get to hear and see more of Levi Johnston.
Mom doesn’t want to stop her...it’s all Palin all the time. It’s getting like to much of the Bush’s...too much of the Clintons and too much of the Housewives of New Jersey
She can try to talk her out of it, and may have done so already. But Bristol is over 18 and legally an adult. She can do whatever she wants.
I don't think this is a good idea either, but based on the lines quoted in the article, it doesn't sound like her part is promoting teen pregnancy or anything like that - regardless of what the headline says.
What are these people media hogs?? GO AWAY!! Its not necessary for you to be in front of the camera 24/7!!
No more Levi and his drug totin’ mama.
Guffaw. Thanks, MBB!
I must say that I agree with Non-Sequitur's earlier comment--indeed, what are the positive benefits of an unwed teen pregnancy? Unless, of course, you are Bristol Plain...Palin. I see very little that is "conservative" in such a message.
A high school student (about age 15 or 16) commented to me last year at the time of some other big Bristol appearance--don't recall which one---"Wow. She gets pregnant and gets to be on TV. My parents would kill me. I can't even date alone."
Really stunned, but secretely pleased to learn that such curious practices still exist, I turned to the girl and said, "Your parents care about you."
She brightened up and said, "Yeah, I guess they do."
Most teens wouldn't have gotten into that situation to begin with.
"Do as I say, not as I did" is the message. There is nothing positive about an unwed, pregnant, teen aged mother.
Many do, but that wasn’t your question.
Having made a stupid decision to begin with, just because she didn't compound her mistake by getting an abortion does not magically transform unwed teen aged pregnancy into a positive event. There is no positive message in it. It is a situation to be avoided, the result of bad judgement and carelessness that will have a negative impact on the life of the child. It is not to be glamorized, regadless of who the mother or grandmother is.
