You are looking at it to narrowly. Hamas is tied to our enemies. HAMAS (the Islamic Resistance Movement) is a spawn of the Muslim Brotherhood. One of its founders was Abdullah Azzam, the man who created MAK and served as Osama Bin Laden's mentor. When Azzam was assassinated OBL took over MAK and later turned it into Al Qaeda, merging it with another Muslim Brotherhood spawn, Egyptian Islamic Jihad.

The Muslim Brotherhood and all of its organizations are our enemy.

Perhaps. I certainly understand that he was an instrumental operative in undermining an enemy and likely saving lives.

But, I still can’t get past the fact that he’s not our operative. His government owes him a debt of gratitude, and we owe his government as an ally. But, we didn’t have any particular duty to individual Russian or British spies that helped undermine the Nazis in WWII.

He’s an Israeli spy. Like I said ... I wouldn’t have a problem with making an exception and letting him stay. I also don’t have a problem with sending him back to his country. I don’t think we should be required to let him stay simply by virtue of his service to the Israeli government, though.
