Congressman Aderholt's bill intends to hold off any more cuts until Congress votes on the budget, with the hope of halting more layoffs.
"I think the problem that you're seeing is that the money has been appropriated by Congress, to NASA. But NASA is sending the word out, that actually, they're giving some mixed signals that what's going to proceed, how it's, what's going to happen with the Constellation program, and therefore, alot of the money is being withheld from these companies," said Aderholt. "Therefore, that's what this legislation would do is send a message to these contractors, that we are moving forward, that Congress fully expects the Constellation program to be in effect, and therefore the money should be spent, as is dictated by the 2010 law."
At least four other Congressman have co-sponsored the bill, including Rep. Lincoln Davis, Rep. Spencer Bachus, Rep. Parker Griffith, Rep. Jo Bonner and Rep. Mike Rogers.
Aderholt says he sees support for Constellation on both sides of the aisle.
"I would say 90% or more of Congress right now believes that Constellation is a good program, it's a program that Congress should be investing in, or we don't see a sign of letting up," said Aderholt.

Obummers giant leap backwards continues to suffer strong resistance!
The comments on the site are telling. Obama’s played this properly for his constituency. They see killing Constellation and the Moon program as “taking away from the privileged”, and giving to the “needy”. The ignorance they display is staggering, but clearly Zilch knows what he’s doing politically with replacing Constellation with the Mission to Nowhere.
So much for all those post-Sputnik reforms to America’s education system...
