“God created him. I don’t believe God makes mistakes. He was the man God intended.”
So God creates evil people and then punishes them for being what God created them to be? I could never worship such a “god.”

Only God knows whether Byrd was evil or not as only God knows his heart. Having said that, his actions and votes are what we will judge him by.
God creates everything good and creates nothing which is bad. Our free will is what causes mistakes. God has nothing to do with those.
Byrd is the man he himself intended to be, not God.
