Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee continued to insist on Sunday that he wont make a decision on another presidential run until after this fall's midterm elections.
I havent closed the door. I think that would be foolish on my part, especially when poll after poll shows that there is strong sentiment out there. I end up leading a lot of the polls. Im the Republican that clearly, at this point, does better against Obama than any other Republican, said Huckabee, a Fox News contributor, on "Fox News Sunday."
She has got the fire, the energy and I think there are a lot of Republicans who love her, would support her, and she would be a very strong presence in a presidential primary."
On Mitch Daniels:
"I'm a big fan of Mitch Daniels. I don't want any one to interpret that statement that I made as I somehow think he is lacking in presidential temper. ... I just don't want him to back away from issues that will energize and have energized 40-50 percent of the Republican base." On Jeb Bush:
"I love Jeb Bush. He is one of the smartest and most articulate. If Jeb decided to run I think it would be hard for any one to overwhelm him. ... He is, in many ways, one of the best, most talented people we have in the Republican Party."
On Romney:
The Massachusetts healthcare bill essentially is the blueprint for Obamacare," said Huckabee. "That is going to be an issue he has to confront. There is no doubt in my mind he is running, and I think he is a formidable candidate. ... He has the organization. He has got the money, and he's got sort of the inside track with a lot of the Republican establishment.
You know, i think everyone should just be polite. It’s really kinda sad to watch someone begin losing their mind.
Huckleberry is a complete doofus!
I want some of whatever he’s on....then I’d be a millionare, with perfectly behaved children.
Sarah Palin need not identify herself as the frontrunner. THe level of attention she gets, the power of her endorsements and the crowds she draws already do this.
I think Huck is simply trying to renegotiate his contract with Fox. Any serious intention to run would run into a two word brick wall: Maurice Clemmons. If he got through that one, he would run smack dab into Wayne Dumond and the 1000 other pardons he issued in his 10 years as Governor.
That doesn’t even take into account the Club for Growth’s opposition, which would be formidable.
May be time to re-read Craig Shirley's book on the 1980 election to get ready for it...LOL.
Delusional Huck PING!
Huckabee to the rescue:
“Its really kinda sad to watch someone begin losing their mind.”
If he really entertains thoughts about running and winning, I agree with you. I think that Huck needs the scratch and he has to keep his brand out there to get it. He seems to give the biggest accolades to Jeb Bush and slams Romney. Perhaps he is trying to curry favor with the Establishment.
Sorry, Huck. Mittens has them sewed up. All seven of them.
Four police officers are dead in my state of Washington, in part due to your actions.
LOL
“Four police officers are dead in my state of Washington, in part due to your actions.”
Wait, wait. That was Huck....not me. I plead not guilty to the charge.
Sounds like Mike has joined a new church... St. Looney’s Up the Cream Bun and Jam.
Until Huck drops about 40 lbs. we can all rest assured that he will be a fixture on FOX on Sunday and not on the presidential circuit in 2012.
Frontrunner for what?
oops, I meant Huckabee’s actions.
“May be time to re-read Craig Shirley’s book on the 1980 election to get ready for it...LOL.”
It looks like the story of 2012 will be, if not a repeat of 1980, a re-presentation of it with some slight variables. The salient themes will be nearly the same, though.
Weak liberal President. Energy crisis. The ascendancy of America’s enemies. Economic turbulence.
Three guesses as to who the solution to this conundrum will be.
(We have both seen this movie before. I am looking forward to the remake, though)
“Frontrunner for what?”
Good question.
