Hands of Health.
I’m guessing some sort of “charity”.
It is something like ‘hand you health’, it is like saying thank you in Turkish.
I believe this picture is from a ‘stop the war’ demonstration in London last year, not on the flotilla.
“Hands of health,” according to Google Translate, which detected it as Turkish: http://translate.google.com/#auto|en|ellerinize%20saglik
I happened to catch an old movie, “The Bamboo Prison” about an U.S. Army Sergeant who plays the role of traitor in order to spy on the Russians, Chinese and North Koreans during the war. One of the final scenes of the movie shows commies with protest signs. One of them stood out like a snowflake in a coal mine, “Fight for Peace”.
Thank you for the reply
Another post linked to a full translation. Thats what I like about FR - someone is bound to know or have a link related to just about every story.
I am certainly glad that they are identifying themselves as they truly are.... =.=
I don’t think so. The Buddhist swastika is normally shown as a flat square, not a diamond, and I have never seen it with the red/white/black motif.
That’s a Nazi swastika.
Truer words and same for the American left!
*ping*
From an old Turkish poem I hear
Would be nice to get some more info on this. I have leftists claiming it’s a sign in protest of Israel’s actions, likening THEM to the NAZIs.
Maddening that in this day and age, we can’t get a meaning for this - Literally and more importantly, culturally.
