If he had made a remark to me like that for asking a simple question. I would have ordered him out of my store. Then called the police and reported a man refusing to leave cursing at employees. That would just be fun to watch.

You nailed it. The store manager had every right to do just that. That would have made it a clear cut violation of the law on plugs part and required the police to take him into custody for further questioning at police headquarters to determine if he was attempting to incite a violent reaction from the manager. With the news media all over the place, he would not be able to hide from them as the police took him into custody. At the very least, plugs would later have to give a formal apology to the manager following the apprehension of him by the police.
