Its getting rather old, but the Left continues to attack one of the most influential conservative women alive today: Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
When she was invited to speak at Stanislaus university in California last Friday, leftist students immediately went through trash cans, trying to figure out how much Palin was being paid. They organized protests, asked their friends of the mainstream media for help, and altogether did their best to ruin what eventually became the most successful fundraising dinner in the universitys history.
The material recovered by the students, which detailed perks such as first-class airfare for two and deluxe hotel accommodations, prompted California Attorney General Jerry Brown to launch an investigation into the finances of the universitys foundation arm and allegations that the nonprofit violated public disclosure laws.
Would they have done the same thing if Palin was a leftist? Have you ever heard of progressive students protesting against the speaking fees of, say, Al Gore or Hillary Clinton? No, of course you havent. Thats because this is not about fairness or money but about Palins ideology. She is a conservative, and thats reason enough for leftist students to ruin her evening and to disgrace the university that invited her.

((((PING))))
Even the leftists understand Palin’s appeal has the potential to reach far beyond the “Christian right” caricature they try to pin her down as. Especially in light of Obama’s failures and woeful lack of experience on the ever pressing issues of oil and energy development — Palin only continues to gain more credibility — not as a “right wing darling” but as a viable contender for the presidency.
And yes, even the California breed of Republicans like her and Carly Fiorina benefitted a great deal from her endorsement.
No way!
It's a war against her because of her personality.
Where oh where is that "Captain Obvious" post?
The left would never admit it, but they are scared to death of Sarah Palin. That is why she is their number one target for destruction. She has been since the day she was chosen as McCain's running mate. She will continue to be their number one target until she is either destroyed or elected president.
This cannot be said enough and it needs to sink in fast! When you're in a fight to the death, you can't play under Marquess of Queensberry rules while the liberals fight with Alinsky's rules.
Wow, Dave used a lot of words to say the left is agressively discrediting GOP primary candidates they most fear will disrupt their agenda.
great post.
...didn’t Jerry Brown refuse to investigate ACORN even after the corruption story broke?
She’s about the only decent thing MacCain has done for us.
bttt
By choosing Palin, McCain may have quite literally saved conservatism.
“It’s a war against her because of her personality.”
Care to expand on that, Captain Obvious?
Logical reason for that, too. ;)
It’s a war on patriotic America.
Communists have totally infiltrated the education system and are filling the mush brained charges with their one world communist religion. We will all be in Mao jackets and Che tee shirts if this is not stopped.
One political decision MacCain made that has made sense.
True but it was just as self-serving as every other decision McCain makes. He only picked her because his campaign advisers talked him out of picking Lieberman.
It is very distressing that many FReepers- who cannot support Sarah Palin as a presidential candidate- have begun to follow the leftist strategy of hateful invective.
Sarah is a fantastic standard bearer for Conservatives - putting herself in harm’s way to help other candidates and if you cannot support her - I beg you - do not destroy her.
Yep, reminds me of a stopped clock.
