My next wonder is when cash will be declared too expensive, or unnecessary or whatever else so using our National ID is the only way.

If you read the history about Credit Cards, the purpose was to do away with Paper money. Create a cashless society.

Not many people are familiar with the internal workings of HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

First passed by Congress in the late 1990s, this act was, among other things, to clean up electronic health insurance claims, insure patient privacy, and institute a hugh, national medical records database for every patient in the US. A Dr. in Los Angeles, say, could instantly access the records of anybody, given the Dr. had proper clearance.

Several ideas for the database were tried and all failed. Apparently the project is so hugh that existing technology can’t handle it.

I predict this latest incarnation of the National ID (that’s what this really is) will fail for similar reasons. They’ll spend billions, lot of consultants and programmers will be able to retire on the goodies they get, and in the end they’ll have nothing that works.

Of course the White House is hoping to have detailed records of all your financial transactions. Which is kind of silly considering they can get that now via subpoena.

But they won’t be satisfied until they have wasted several billion more of our tax dollars chasing the impossible dream of command and control over US citizens.

Idiots!!

This came out on Friday: http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/ns_tic.pdf

As I read it, there’s no getting around an individual identifier that one will need to buy/sell.
