Its the new form of mass boondoggled chemicals upon the ecosystem like DDT, Agent Orange and now its the chemical dispersant.
Many more times more toxic than the oil itself, but the real wrong about its use is this, it may be the best tool for an oil spill in other parts of the globe especially colder places, but in the warm waters of the Gulf and during tropical storm season its like throwing in a cup of WD-40 in a hot tub, and you get in it.
I sugest you look up Benzene.
The damning of DDT was a farce.
DDT saved million so lives.
Agent Orange was so safe AF crews were drenched in it loading into planes and never had any toxic effect. See the AF “Ranch Hand” study. Don’t let facts get in the way of a good hysterical liberal rant.

See, I’m not a chemist, but I do not understand why this concept is difficult for people to grasp!
The temperature makes all the difference in the world in how a molecule behaves. Say you have a bucket of ice cold water and throw some sugar in it. You will have sugar granules that sink the bottom of the water (as many of us in the 70’s who couldn’t afford fancy brand name cereal learned when trying to sugar up some Rice Krispies or Corn Flakes and got to the sandy bottom of the bowl).
However, if you dump some sugar in a bucket of HOT water, the sugar has a chemical reaction and changes form to become something completely seperate than it was and will never revert back to it’s original form.
Now I am only a woman who enjoys cooking and think of cooking as science because it fascinates me to see how things change under different circumstances and so on, but wouldn’t the same principle apply to this chemical in the gulf?
Oh, and to top it all off, the places where this has been used and tested for is not marsh where the water will SIT for months and years on end. This is another thing people aren’t taking into account. This happened in the bayou! That water sits enough to grow vulture size misquitos, how would having this chemical sitting for years on end effect the ecosystem?
Bah, I’m so frustrated at this whole thing and while I’m not “WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!” , it just ticks me off to see people shrug this off as if it is no big deal. The damn ocean water is eating holes in the bottom of people’s boats for God sake!
