Senator Joseph McCarty was on the right track turning the tide on Communism which was gaining a foot fall in American universities and among the John Dewey followers. The media, i.e., radio and news papers started a propaganda campaign against McCarty that successfully finished him off. Under the guise of Political Correctness American values were eroding in favor of “European” values which were far more ‘modern’….a phrase used by authors and teachers alike to move America away from our Victorian back ground….thinly disguised as anti-religion.
