Baby Bong Pic Sparks Fury

A SHOCKING picture of an 11-month-old baby apparently smoking a BONG has sparked fury after being posted on the web.

The tot is seen sitting on the floor wearing a nappy and putting his mouth to the smoking pipe as if he were using it to inhale marijuana.

The baby's unnamed mother, of Jacksonville, Florida, has provoked outrage on online forums.

But she has strenuously denied that she would ever let her child take drugs.

She wrote on Facebook: "I would never ever ever let him get high."

Child protection agencies in Florida said they are investigating the case.

This is beyond words.

The mother says she would never allow the child to smoke pot - looks like smoke in the bong to me ...

The tot has his finger stuck where the reefer would normally go. The most dangerous thing about the bong to the kid is that it is probably made of fragile glass.

The bong's owner (his mom) is probably more dangerous to the kid at this point than the fragile glass, IMHO

Yeah, but the smoke's in the bong and he has his mouth over it ...

Can’t really tell from the picture whether that’s smoke IN the bong, or a coating on the glass.

How long does smoke stay in a bong once the reefer is removed? Is there time enough for a baby to figure out how to stick his finger in the hole? That’s why I’m leaning towards the theory of a well-coated bong from much use. If the picture were stereoscopic then it would be possible to locate the position of the “cloud.”

Reason number 123555222222 not to post stupid comments and pictures onto facebook and myspace and all the other “social media” sites.

I doubt its smoke in the bong, the bowl is in the slide and for the smoke to remain the baby would have to be inhaling and the "product" would be lit (his poor fingers would be burnt).

The only way for smoke to remain in the tube is for someone to draw the smoke in and hand it to the kid. I really doubt that someone would return the hot bowl to its slide first if this is what they were doing.

Not that this makes anything any better, this picture is disgusting, I mean that.

For the record... I found out from my brother about how this bong thing works if anyone asks...

Gawd !!! I'm gonna get grief for this ...

As an "expert" [not that there's anything wrong with that], here is the explanation ...

The pot is put in the bowl and lit while sucking on the bong [creating a vacuum]. There is about 1-2" of water in the bottom of the bong and there is a hole [called a carburetor] in the middle of the back of the vertical tube [it is covered with the thumb during this process] ...

The smoke from the pot goes down a small diagonal tube into the main body of the bong and percolates in the water - this cools the smoke as it fills the main body of the tube ...

After the smoke has completely filled the tube [and while still sucking], the carburetor [covered by the thumb] is uncovered and fresh air RAPIDLY enters the tube [shooting the smoke up out of the bong and into one's lungs] ...

If one stops sucking after the smoke enters the main body of the bong - THEN removes the thumb from the carburetor, the smoke remains in the main body of the chamber ...

Forgot to add ...

Obviously, someone else lit the bong and left the smoke in it, then handed it to the kid for the pic ...

But, the kid is close enought to the top of the bong to get a healthy dose ...

And hopefully pot is all that the bong was used for, sickos do meth out of the same things now days. If thats the case I would be surprised if the poor kids heart ever recovered, even with minimal exposure.

Its all based on the Bernoulli Principle [P1V1=P2V2] - simple physics [I got my engineering degree] ...
