Looks like it’s going to be up to the women to save us.
DC Pubbies gonna blow it, sure.
Sick of this crap...just sick of it. GOP is WORTHLESS. Leave the party and become a registered independent.
Kyl should take at least $100,000 of his campaign funds and produce a commercial publicly apologizing to Obama. Damn, he should strip naked, don sack cloth and ashes- and then apologize on TV. What an idiot!
I believe he was threatened in some way. The Chicago Way is to find the weak spot and bore right into it with thinly-veiled threats.
The only other logical answer is that Rahm took Kyl aside and told him the session had been taped and either Kyl recants or that part of the tape will be released.
I firmly believe that the paranoid Oval Office is wired for all meetings and that the fly on Obama's lip is actually a bug.

Agreed. With all that’s happened with the media, how can anyone take a report like this at face value?
as was noted in the comment section, this is supposedly from an interview with the National Review.
Why is this then, being posted on a WaPo blog and absolutely nothing on NR?
And don’t the “quotes” seem a bit chopped up ?
I hesitate to believe this.
You can always tell the Republican haters, they believe the what the Liberal Washington Post says
What? Pro-illegal immigration, pro-amnesty Kyl is a lying fraud?...Who could have guessed that? < /sarcasm >
I read the article and Kyl’s only “walking it back” very slightly. He’s still saying that Obama told him if Obama secures the border then Republicans won’t have any reason to vote for “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.” That part of his original statement hasn’t changed. The part he changed appears to be that now he’s not saying the administration is holding border security hostage, but instead he’s saying the left is holding it hostage in a political sense. It’s a relatively small change in his statement and doesn’t change the significance of what Obama said, but just tries to say that the administration isn’t intentionally not securing the border. Instead he’s saying that the left is peventing the administration politically from doing more to secure the border.
The WaPo is trying to turn this into a significant mistake by Kyl, which it isn’t. This is a slight change in Kyl’s statement and it’s not going to cause any problem for Republicans in November.
Do you HAVE to be a moron or a crook to be in the Senate or does it just seem that way?
Both a moron and a crook.
I don’t think he’s pro amnesty and he’s not a “lying fraud”. See my first post.
Do you really trust the washington post as a news source?
No he’s a good guy; trying reading my first post and chilling out.
this is all I could find at NR....
Kyl: Obama Did Not Consult on Border Funds
Earlier this week, the Obama administration asked Congress for $600 million in emergency funds to help secure the Southwest border. Sen. Jon Kyl (R., Ariz.) tells National Review Online that he appreciates this modest addition by the administration, but finds it odd that the administration did not consult with us about the request. I wished they met with us beforehand, he says, so they could explain to us what they want to spend the millions on. The funds are welcome, but probably not enough for right now. I am still not clear about what they are trying to accomplish.
Kyl adds that President Obama is still not doing enough to secure the borders. Kyl, of course, had a small spat with the White House last week over comments he made at a town-hall meeting. Kyl, responding to a voters question, detailed a recent one-on-one conversation he had with the president. They are holding [border security] hostage over hopes for comprehensive immigration reform, Kyl said at the forum.
Kyl tells us that the comments were taken a bit out of context, and that the they he was referring to was the Left, the presidents base, and not the administration. I did not try to start a fight. This meeting happened a month ago and we were talking in the context of his political problems. He was talking about how they think that if we secure the border, you guys [Republicans] wont have the incentive to work on comprehensive immigration reform.

that sounds more like a clarification of his comments......not a backtrack exactly. I would have to compare it more closely with his original statement....but I only know what has been printed about it and we all know that the press rarely gets it right.
Ping!
Kyl may say that this meeting never took place but the Magic muslim's actions say the complete opposite. Good Lord!!! we have a federal park in AZ that we've basically ceded to mexican drug cartels. Don't try and tell me that the Dear Reader is incapable of these tactics.
Are these people getting threatened, or what????
I think their families are getting threatened, too.
I am also beginning to beleive that most of the “selective indignation” from our side is just for show. Good cop-bad cop.
If we take the House and Senate in Nov., we’ll really need to keep their feet to the fire...or it’s over.
