This is good- I have nothing against peoppe who come here and work hard and take care of their families- I actually supported Bush’s ‘guest worker’ program

For this very reason. I doubt those on unemployment would take those jobs.

So... in order to get them here LEGALLY and know who we have in our country, have a guest worker program. That way they can come and go without fear and we have less of that problem and we would know who is here!

anyone else must be criminals and drug runners

What about diseases? Do we also require vaccinations as a condition for entering the country? Something else to think about.

We would. In fact, I know tons of tweens and teens that would die to have those jobs.

We were out three hours at the height of the day. (would have been out longer if we didn’t miss the height of ripe) They make it out like it’s a living hell. It’s not. I did it as a kid for spending cash, now my kids do it to stock away food. A straw sun hat, white clothes, a cooler with bottles of water and you CAN go all day. It’s hard when you start (and my 49 year old hips are aching today) but my Tweens made it through just fine.

We were out picking Strawberries yesterday. Today we processed 30 pounds of them.

Of course-—have a guest worker program.
THere ARE INDEED some jobs Mexican illegals (or even
legals) would flock to well before any American of any age would. THAT , however, is the classic “false choice” that the open borders crowd likes to foist on us, as if it’s THAT the defines the whole issue of Illegal Immigration
and, beyond that, looming amnesty. It DOESN’T. Those of us
against Illegal Immigration might be against it for a whole host of reasons, but I assure you, CRIME, and NOT honest labor, is chief among them. They are demagoguing this issue even in these late stages, just as they’ve done for decades, because it’s worked. They’re hoping it will work again.

And having said all I just said, I wonder what would happen if the “other side” of this issue (whatever or whoever that is)were to propose some version of the Guest Worker program
that would make provisions for citizenship, be fair, and satisfy a lot more interests than what we have now (the most divisive and contentious issue in the nation today),
I wonder just how the Open Borders crowd would take it, however reasonable?
No, they’d fight it tooth and nail, because ultimately , what they want is amnesty, and what amnesty means is guaranteed votes for the Left in perpetuity.

I agree with you. I support the guest worker program. There is something to be said for someone who is willing to leave their family and work in lousy jobs to be able to support alot of extended family. Compare those people to the lazy welfare crowd who have free housing, food, and cell phones. Who would you rather have on your payroll? Until we get rid of this welfare state and make people work hard in school and then a job to make a living, we will spiral downward as a country.

Many seem to believe the premise that all illegal aliens tromped across the Mexican border to mow lawns, pick crops, and hang dry wall.

I've seem estimates that 30-40% of illegal aliens are visa over stays. The percent seems to be growing over time. Many visa over stays are former guest workers or students that work as professionals through temp agencies, under cutting American salaries and paying no or partial taxes. It is disgustingly easy to do.

I’ve been saying this for a long time. Let guest workers legally come over under their real identities, with documentation, and after a couple of years in the guest worker program, if they keep their noses clean and play by the rules, give them a expedited path to citizenship. Anybody else gets deported or gets severely dealt with at the border.

Here’s what I think...

They think americans are lazy....whatever...yea some are..

But...Americans haven’t had to do the manual labor as much in the past 20 years because the American society has gotten more educated and that has brought more jobs to use your brains instead of your hands...

ALMOST EVERYONE from a 3rd world crap hole like mexico is used to manual labor....BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO BE....

so I’m gonna be impressed with Mexicans dogging us b/c we are “lazy”....NEWSFLASH...start getting educated ya little bean eaters and YOU won’t have to work so hard.
