The former chief of staff to Rod Blagojevich says he believes that Barack Obama knew of the then-Illinois governor's attempt to get a job in exchange for appointing a White House preferred person to Obamas old senate seat.
John Harris, Blagojevichs former top aide, testified during the governors corruption hearings this week that three days after Obamas election as president, Blagojevich felt assured he had a deal from the president that would place aide Valerie Jarrett in the Senate. He offered no proof of his claim.
The president understands that the governor would be willing to make the appointment of Valerie Jarrett as long as he gets what he's asked for, Harris said in testimony.
Harris said the deal was that Blagojevich would get a Cabinet appointment in return.
The White House has declined comment. The same claim has been made by defense lawyers in past court filings, without supporting evidence.
The president spoke with FBI agents about the Blagojevich scandal soon after the former governor was arrested in 2008. Blagojevichs legal team has tried to compel the FBI to release a transcript of the interview it conducted with the president, but the bureau has declined all requests.

What exactly did BHO know and when did he know it?
Something we all suspected. Something we figured we would hear. But, being Chicagoland...what can anyone believe coming out of the mouths of anyone connected with this? Sometimes I think they pay people like this guy to state things for which no proof is offered - just to cloudy up the waters. Who knows what really went on, but I am sure it is much worse and deeper than we will ever know.
They have to figure out how to catch Blago without catching Obama too.

I need a lawyer's ruling here, if you please -- how was this testimony allowed, how did it not fall under the hearsay rules?? He "believes", he says Blago "felt", and then offers no proof as to his contention. Granted, I'm not saying 0bama and Blago aren't guilty as sin, considering what we've learned about Sestak and the guy out in Colorado (name escaping me), but aren't you required to testify to only what you yourself know, not conjecture on what you think someone else may know??
The hollow feeling in the gut that it's all but impossible to find honest politicians leads one to harbor feelings a jury might call premeditation.
The MSM will paint this guy as a nut, just like they did to the “birthers” who are 100% correct.
