I don't dislike Karl Rove or Ed Gillespie. However this is a misguided attempt of the GOP to replicate what the left with George Soros is doing.

We have the Tea-Party which can accomplish the same thing without being underhanded about it. All we need is a good Republican Candidate who has the endorsement of the Tea-Party to defeat the Democrat's Candidate on a race by race basis.

All we need is a good Republican Candidate . . .

No. We need a multitude of electable Conservative candidates who are willing to stand for their principles in the face of a concerted onslaught by the media, unions, enviro-tyrants, Marxists and others on the rabid left.

Not exactly. The Tea-Party's forte is grass-roots political activism. But there are other necessary components as well when it comes to establishing and maintaining. A big one is formal training in political leadership and mechanics/organizing - such as is done with Blackwell's "Leadership Institute". Another one is big $$$ fundraising - which is a political necessity given that Obama and the other Dem candidates and organizations were able to raise well over a BILLION dollars (probably closer to two) in the 2008 cycle. This allowed Obama to ditch Federal financing and spend many times more than McCain was able to.

The Conservative "Movement" has most of the pieces - is probably lacking the most in fundraising coordination and capability. What's missing is an umbrella function to help tie them all together. I'm not talking about centralization of authority in a command-structure hierarchy, but rather a function that helps and facilitates the different groups in establishing common goals and collaborating with each other.

Exactly right. We need something bigger than the Tea Party Movement. But we do need candidates that will attract the Tea Party voters. I am afraid the Democrats and RINOs have co-opted the Tea Party and are trying to pass themselves off as having the support of the movement. But I like Roves idea.
