Has BP's Cap Almost Stopped The Spill?
The BP Spill Cams ^ | 6/24/10

Posted on 06/24/2010 5:56:18 PM PDT by Williams

Reading some chatter on websites that the cap seems to have slowed the oil spill to a trickle since being reinstalled. To my surprise, the view is very different than before.

Previously, the oil rising around the cap was a gusher and you couldn't see the cap unless BP put a fan in place so they could examine the equipment by blowing the oil cloud back.

Right now, one side of the cap shows really no oil plume, the opposite side has one stream going up but still doesn't obscure the cap.

Maybe they achieved a better fit when they reinstalled. I know last time they had to close some vents to capture more oil. Maybe they are venting more oil elsewhere not in the picture?

It looks like the thig is way better under control.

While it’s still pouring pretty good, it does look better than it did. Check this view.

If they have the $28/share NYSE price is the sale of a lifetime.

I’d have to say that is the slowest I’ve seen the oil flowing since they first started streaming these cams...

Its leaking less, and it looks like they’re capturing what is leaking out.

I haven't been ogling the vidcam, but it has occurred to me on numerous occasions: despite the pants-wetting and handwringing and teeth-gnashing, BP has got to have world class expertise which they bring to bear on this problem. Innovation on horseback is not exclusively an American virtue, and probably less so than ever before, considering the decrepit state of our culture.

While the 'rat scum, whorehouse media sluts, and their fellow travelers have been busy wailing and pointing fingers, it is just possible that the eeeevil BP has been going about the business of solving some problems.

Too bad no one can say the same for the US government.

“i wonder why not much has been said???”

It’s going to take some time to photoshop some pix of Obama in a scuba suit fitting the cap to the well.

You don’t know how tempting that stock price is. I want to buy 1000 shares right now it is killing me. I have been talking about it weeks now. As soon as they stop the leak or make significant improvement the stock is going to spike. On the other hand, another problem or leak and it tanks. That is the only thing holding me back. I am not sure how I would explain to my wife that I lost $28K in the stock market these days. I would probably have to tell her on the phone......

The damages aren't all in. Obama has no plan to skim up the oil already poured out all over the Gulf, nor does he intend to do so. Someone is telling him that this is just like Katrina and will hurt the Republicans.

Hey, not my fault Obama and his people are among the more ignant!
