Speaking of lawless, what if I decide to break any laws I deem unfair to me? Do the rest of us get to pick and choose what laws we want to obey? I think we all know the answer to that one.

Laws related to carrying out legitimate functions of government ("To secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed...") are legitimate and you are morally obliged to obey them.

Laws not related to carrying out legitimate functions of government may be morally disobeyed.

Would you have demanded escaped slaves be returned to their "owners" in compliance with the Fugitive Slave laws?
