Yes it did!

Good news on your arm, Nutmeg!!!

I did not see the game (I don't have NESN), but I heard a good portion of it. Yay Dusty! Methinks the SI article praising Robinson Cano as the best 2nd baseman burned Dusty a bit (plus he's coming around from the ailments he's had).

I didn't know about that article, but I'll bet you're right about Dusty being burned up by it. Pedroia is the BEST 2nd baseman in the MLB today, IMO... hands down. Nobody works harder than Pedroia... he's a true "Dirt Dog".

Yes, D&C on WEEI mentioned it this morning.

I agree, he’s the best 2nd baseman in MLB. He’s got a WS ring plus MVP and Rookie of the Year trophies as well.

I’d take him on my team... :)

You may want to consider getting NESN... watching Pedroia every night during the games (plus seeing him in person at the games we attend at Fenway) confirms my belief that Dustin Pedroia is the BEST 2nd baseman in the MLB today. He's incredible! :o)

One thing you see at Fenway in person that you don't see on NESN: Dustin Pedroia is always the FIRST guy in the dugout after batting practice/before the start of the game. He paces back and forth, and CAN'T WAIT to run out onto the field! He's the first guy to run on the field also, the rest of the team follows him. When "Captain" Varitek eventually retires, my vote for the next Red Sox Captain is Dusty!

I know, however:

I don't get NESN because I do not want to support the pro-leftist owners/front office of the Red Sox. Remember when John Henry offered his personal jet(s) to John Kerry for a potential 2004 Ohio recount? Boy genius Theo has made some very anti-GWB statements in the past. Larry Lucchino is very left and revels in it when he appears on the D&C show on WEEI. If I go to a game the tickets are a gift and I don't buy anything (food, souvenirs, etc.)

Starve the beast.

That's why I don't hate the Yankees; George Steinbrenner is a Republican.

Back to baseball, no question the next Red Sox Captain is Dusty!

Wow, I have to admire your dedication. I'm afraid we're too devoted to the Red Sox and to baseball in general (including the minor leagues) to give up NESN. I wouldn't know how to eliminate it from our cable system anyway.

We were Red Sox fans long before we knew of the politics of John Henry & Co. It also GREATLY annoyed me (and my husband, and several of our friends) when Henry, Werner, Luccino and Theo were fawning over John F'in Kerry in 2004. Hubby and I were in the Fenway crowd that campaign season when John F'in Kerry was announced and threw out a first pitch. We - and at least half the crowd - loudly BOOed the idiot.

I was SO glad when Curt Schilling stepped up during that same time and voiced his support for George W. Bush, and John Henry & Co. really couldn't do a thing about it, LOL.

Well, we fully boycott other lefty products: CITGO, Progressive Insurance, GEICO (Warren Buffett owns it), AARP, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, etc.

That's why I don't hate the Yankees; George Steinbrenner is a Republican.

That may be true, but I think his son Hank - who I believe has taken Daddy George's place - is a big lefty. I could be wrong about that though...

Back to baseball, no question the next Red Sox Captain is Dusty!

Our hearts are broken tonight... as you've probably heard, poor Dusty has a broken foot, and will most likely miss the next 6 weeks or so. At least. He really IS the spark plug for the team. Things are not looking up for the Red Sox, I'm afraid... :-(

Losing Dusty is a bad, bad event. The amount of injuries the Sox are sustaining is getting to the point of breaking IMO.

Thank you. I use Newsmeat.com to see where people donate to. It's a pretty good tool to realize you supports the baddies. The Red Sox front office has been very blatant in their leftist rhetoric and actions; therefore I do not support them. And it WAS sweet, sweet grapes when Schilling stuck it to them that election!

I'll have to research Steinbrenner, Jr. He might get a partial pass based on his father though.

Thanks for that reminder about Newsmeat.com, FRiend. I think you told me about that site before. I'm definitely going to check it out... :o)

You are welcome FRiend! How’s the arm?

Wait a minute...is this really Nutmeg typing or is it ‘Nutmeg’?

Doing much better... thanks for asking! I'm in a removable soft cast now, and can type normally again with both hands.

I've got to "run"... I'll try to elaborate later. I do plan to go back to my "Nutmeg Hit By Ball" thread ASAP and thank everyone for their good wishes. :o)

Geesh, just heard on the radio that Red Sox catcher Victor Martinez broke his thumb after he was hit by a batted ball in SF yesterday. Wow... bad luck all around. I highly doubt we’ll see the Sox in the post-season if this continues...

“Doing much better... thanks for asking!”

STAY AWAY FROM THE RED SOX!!! THEY ARE CURSED!!!

Terry Francona should get some serious looks for AL Manager of the Year with the injuries the team has and having them in contention.

This is ridiculous, 3 straight days an All-Star player gets injured?!
The fans getting injured is another tragedy.
