Update:
North Korea has threatened to increase punishment for an American who was sentenced to hard labor for illegally entering the country.
The North’s official Korean Central News Agency reported Thursday that North Korea is examining what harsher measures it would take against Aijalon Mahli Gomes in line with a wartime law.
Gomes, from Boston, was sentenced in April to eight years of hard labor and fined $700,000 for entering the country illegally and for an unspecified “hostile act.”
Walking into North Korea just because you “sympathize” with a prisoner isn’t the smartest thing to do.
No,
hiking in to N.Korea is not a smart idea.
And ya get NO sympathy from me if ya do so.
Rot in a Nork forced work shop there pal.
Reading a book by a guy who grew up in the Yodoc camp right now.
Most of his days were filled trying to achieve impossible, brutal work quotas with almost no food whatsoever. You’re threatened with increases to your sentence, the length of which you don’t get to know in the first place. Life is real cheap there.
You can’t even find releif by offing yourself- your family (who is usually there with you) will have to pay for your having used death to escape from the Party’s clutches.
Man... too bad we can’t hire some of these North Korean border guards to work our southern border.
