George W. Bush Secretly Visits Fort Hood Victims

By Bill Sammon

Published November 07, 2009

Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura secretly visited Fort Hood last night and spent "considerable time" consoling those who were wounded in Thursday's shooting spree, Fox News has learned.

The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News.

The couple was described as "deeply concerned" about military families on Fort Hood after Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire on soldiers and civilians, killing 13 and wounding 38.

I have always considered our former President George W. Bush to be a Centrist. Although he has always leaned towards the Left, there is certain qualities in a president that George Bush possess which simply escapes even the psyche of Obama. Qualities such as class, character, and patriotism.

May we never forget these actions by our former president, what took place at Ft. Hood, and Obama's complete disregard and disrespect for our men and women in uniform. He is the enemy.

I have always considered our former President George W. Bush to be a Centrist.

Willfully failing to veto un-Constitutional anti-free speech legislation ("McCain-Feingold")...check.

Pimping an ex post facto immigration law ("McCain-Kennedy")...check.

Pimping Socialist medicine ("Medicare Part D")...check.

Bush was no centrist. Bush was a RINO!

I’m not willing to tag the former president as such. Had Kerry been sitting in the Oval Office playing Jacks with John Edwards, the events which took place after 9/11 would have been very different, and much worse for America.

There are a number of decisions George W. Bush made which continues to effect us, but at the very least, he honored our Country in ways Commander-In-Chief should. He had also maintained strong relationships with our allies.

Actions which are vastly different from those being disregarded by our current head of state.

Yours is the post of the day that COMPLETELY MISSES THE POINT. Way to go. Obama couldn’t have said it better.

Thank you for posting this...The first couple sure knew how to make us proud...I was so conccerned for the troops at Fort Hood when Bo took his standard reaction time to get on the scene...so when Dubya and Laura showed up I was very much relieved and more than glad “someone” did the doing of that!!!!&&^%$%#$###@

I don’t believe Obama visited the hospital. Didn’t he travel to the hanger for a photo op and public service announcement?

Bush did the right thing for the troops at Fort Hood...you have no arguement concerning that. The focus was the troops..nothing else...and Bush was the man for the hour then while Bo was golfing or whatever.

President Bush continued to set an example of leadership even after he left office. I was so touched and proud that he thought of our troops unlike BO. He and Laura will always be class acts in my book.

Yep, our troops were recovering from a terrorist attack on our own soil, and Obama drags his feet on publicly acknowledging the incident, then mentions it as a side note during a speech.

I have a copy of a photo of former President George Bush, along with Laura, as they stood bedside next to a soldier wounded in the terrorist attack, and the man’s wife.

George and Laura Bush: A Class Act.

I have always been a GWB fan, and I expect I will always be a GWB fan. A class act.

Lots to complain about GWB. The border, or lack thereof, being one of the main issues. Not agreeing is one thing. I never thought of the Bush’s as bad representatives. I’d trade in a heartbeat.

There were a lot of policies during the Bush administration which I never supported, our south of the border ties being one of them, but if I had to choose between George W. Bush and Obama, the former president would be my hands down choice. Period.
