Deposed Gen. Stanley McChrystal is being revealed as a social and political liberal who banned Fox News from TVs in his headquarters. Which makes his immolation in the pages of the liberal rag Rolling Stone and subsequent firing by the man he voted for president the height of irony.
Marc Ambinder, writing in his Night Beat column at the Atlantic reveals McChrystal's liberalness:
Even more about McChrystal: now it can be told. The story about him voting for Obama is not contrived. He is a political liberal. He is a social liberal. He banned Fox News from the television sets in his headquarters. Yes, really. This serves to put to rest another false rumor: that McChrystal deliberately precipitated his firing because he wants to run for President.
Being a liberal takes nothing away from McChrystal's service and sacrifice to the Nation. It does explain why he was comfortable having a Rolling Stone reporter around for a month.
For those who were hoping McChrystal would join Fox News as a contributor after he leaves the service, don't bet on it.
Well, that would explain the fifty thousand flowers he ordered for the front lines of Kabul: one for each rifle barrel!
is a ‘petard’ anything like a leotard ?

This entire incident is bizarre.
Miss me yet?
Being on FOX would make for some interesting cat fights between him and the White House.
He probably also works for the Saudis like his former boss.
I bet he won’t vote for Obama again.
Send this along to Hannity. I was listening to Hannity earlier today and could not believe that Hannity is really as dumb as he was on today’s show. McChrystal’s politics were relatively well known, and Obama removed another General to stick McChrystal in this position.
The fact the Obama and the press now “approve” of Patraeus now, after the campaign of slander and defamation, is the real story here. This 180 degree about-face is the story that Hannity is (of course) missing.
Hannity is all hung up on whether McChrystal actually personally said anything quoted in the article that was defamatory to Obama. Hannity is clearly completely ignorant that officers can be reprimanded for “conduct unbecoming an officer” - and that gives the CO a wide latitude for discipline of subordinates and if Obama wanted, he could have asked for McChrystal’s commission.
...
You have my full confidence and support.
Very Respectfully,

If he is a liberal, he won’t mind quitting for the sake of the Messiah. He probably will relish it.
Dumber even. Hannity's shtick is chanting talking points.

A term for a primitive hand grenade. It meant that you got
blown up by your own bomb.
Quite frankly, there is not iota of what is being reported in the MSM that I’m willing to believe about this entire incident. Nothing, zero.
It wasn't really an interview, I understand.. They just let they guy tag around with them.
Most of the quotes and criticisms of the administration were from his staff.
but he knew who the guy was, who he was writing for, and the "General" idea of the narrative, and still allowed it.
BUMP.
I guess that we can expect to see him on MSNBC. However, Obama is keeping him in the Army to keep his mouth shut.
Hannity is not gifted. I gave up on him a long time ago. The only reason he ever looked good was because of who he was teamed up with on FNC.
Nope, a petard was a type of bomb used to blow city gates down. They had to be set by hand. The head bombardier had assistants that he would send up to the gates with the Petard, a lot of them were killed before they could set the charge, some of them were blown up prematurely by the Petard, which was notoriously unstable, giving rise to the statement, "Hoist by your own Petard". The head bombardier of course never got shot full of holes by arrows and was never blown up.
I second that.
