Just saw something interesting: the district that Tim Scott was nominated in (SC-1) has sent a Republican to Congress since 1980. So his chances in November appear to be good. BTW, Palin and Huckabee endorsed him a few days before yesterday's runoff. If elected, I believe he will be the first black Republican from a formerly Confederate state in the House since about 1900.
