Isn’t that a non-trivial demotion for Petraeus? And how are the liberals going to feel about having the Afghan war handled by the very person Bush relied upon to oversee the detested “surge” in Iraq?

Obama seems to have a talent for jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Somehow I don’t think this decision is going to reverse his declining approval ratings.

I get the feeling the libs don’t care nearly as much about the war as they did when Bush was president.

Sounds like a demotion to me. While McChrystal had to go to retain whatever slim strands of executive leadership, O’s hostility toward the military, lack of engagement in Afghanistan, and general inability to juggle more than one issue at one time are the root causes behind this ruin of an able general.

Most certainly this will piss them off.

Patreaus is awesome. If he calls for an Afghan surge they will go ballistic.

What will Obams do ? Turn down the request from his hand picked General ?

lol

Our communists Muslim corrupt empty headed nitwit King Obama doesn't care how many American GI's he kills with his policy. This black nitwit is crazy with power. He won the lottery and playing is his game while his communists courts, Senate, House, and executive branch is running America.

Replacing someone who was your subordinate is generally considered a demotion. Unless it's an "additional duty" and he keeps CENTCOM as well.

I was hoping Petraeus would step up to the mike and decline the "honor".
