Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday he will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deepwater drilling after a federal judge struck down the existing one.
Salazar said in a statement that the new order will contain additional information making clear why the six-month drilling pause was necessary in the wake of the Gulf oil spill. The judge in New Orleans who struck down the moratorium earlier in the day complained there wasn't enough justification for it.
Salazar pointed to indications of inadequate safety precautions by industry on deepwater wells. "Based on this ever-growing evidence, I will issue a new order in the coming days that eliminates any doubt that a moratorium is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities."

Nothing like a government that puts everyone (except government workers and unions) out of work and keeps them that way. I'm wondering how the DemocRats are going to spin the million or so new welfare applicants/recipients. They'll probably just blame it on Bush.
Hot Air is reporting on this story. A blogger over there just posted this:
Doug Schoen just stated and I quoth any outside observer of this administration would have to conclude that it is in freefall
oil spill, Afghanistan, Rahm, Blago trial, economy, foreign policy, energy policy and so on .. freefall

I hope the every citizen of the affected States - as well as the rest of America - get totally and unequivically pi***d off and let Obama, Inc. hear their roar; and feel it's consequences. I hope anyone who voted for this walking insult of a President are now, totally awake.
Obama man will not rest until his damnation of America - and that of those who share 'his leadership - is complete.
Words mean things; and so do names. . .and Barack Hussein Obama is no exception.
The punk president really thinks he is all three branches of government does he?
Being held in contempt by the judge is not appeal-able to any other court although I suspect that political pressure could possibly be applied to the judges supervisors or superiors.
However, in that case, that would constitute an additional contempt order.
Wouldn't it be something if Obama by exercising undue pressure upon a court to overturn it's ruling winds up in contempt itself.
Normal court decisions can be appealed up to the supreme court, but contempt decrees can not.
Do a google search on contempt of court, there is an article about a man imprisoned for 14 years before finally being released. That contempt decree was for failure to follow a judges order.
It would be really something to see the thugs thrown in prison for contempt. However, the powers to be would probably cover their tracks to prevent any possibility of that happening.
I believe we have surpassed the ‘simplistic’ stage of this situation.
Actually, that was Clinton’s statement.
O doesn’t care about Louisiana at all. A lousy few electoral votes and they know they are going to lose the Senators whatever they do.
Let ‘em eat cake.
The power of subpoena will be a deterrent. I do wonder who will be the first member of the Obama administration to go to prison.
It has been struck down what exactly don’t you understand abut that? I just don’t see how this is legal?
Although cost of living does come into play.
“Gulf coast folks yes, but a 6 month moratorium will kill the entire country. People who have jobs will not be able to afford the gas to get there. Truckers will not be able to make deliveries. The price will spike on all energy.”
I suspect you are wrong. The moratorium is not on production. Production from the Gulf will continue, drilling at depths below 500 feet will not. If it is just 6 months, I doubt that overall, worldwide production will suffer much, but admittedly I am no expert.
Vote Obama?
Embarrassed yet?
Isn’t this like contempt of court?
Why don’t we close every restaurant in a city when one has an outbreak of food poisoning?
It’s time for a lot of us to stop asking “how can they” in accordance to the Constitution, or a court ruling, or the will of the people.
It’s obvious that they just “do”, regardless of any laws or previous forms of protocol.
The question must shift to “what are we going to do about it”. Saying “no fair” is not going to matter to these people, and their media will cover for them and demonize anybody questioning the “why”.
That's the difference between the two of them. Well, also that Putin doesn't throw a ball like a limp-wristed sissy, but that's for another day.
