I’m not convinced that McChrystal has done this knowing that his career will end. He fired the aide who scheduled the interview, he took the interview in the first place with a rag that might not have had good intentions. He has also apologized for his remarks. If he had done this on purpose with the thought that it was a career ender I don’t believe he would have apologized or fired the aide. This has still not run its course so his intentions and the results are yet to be seen.

Well as you say, he did the interview in a left wing rag. He's a smart guy and knew this. You don't rise up to flag rank especially in the Special Forces community without having a lot of savvy. He fired the aide, true, but that could have been done for the sake of form. I think McChrystal was sending a strong message to the American public and the media, and it worked. Every news outlet is talking about it, and the moonbats are up in arms. The whole situation, rather than reflecting badly on McChrystal, shows Soetoro and his administration up for the gang of leftist fools that they are. But like you say, we'll have to see how the thing plays out.

LOL!!! 'furious.......furious uhbama....oh ROFLMAO!!! My goodness....that is SUCH a funny vision! That boonhead-furious? Oh be still my heart.

The ONLY thing, imho, that would make that nutcase furious would be if someone failed to regulary stroke his egotistic bearing daily. I mean...working for uhbama must be a genuine exercise in arse kissing, squarded by 100!!

If that community agitator got any fuller of his own kingish self, well, he would explode from the pressure of so much self love.

Poor baby.

Being President is such hard work! (Remember how he vocalized this whiney complaint in his pathetic three stoke cadence just weeks after taking office?)

That's why he had to play golf and have state dinners, and offer awards to paul mccartney and take two short vacations while the golf waters are destroyed by the oil flow. Poor guy just can't do enough for his glorious self.

Sorry he doesn't feel that way about our nation.

...if it’s true that he voted for Obama, then I would disagree with the patriot part. McChrystal voted like he was casting one for “American Idol” and that’s unforgivable.

I heard he voted for 0bama too. I hope you're wrong on his reasons though. Thinking back to the '08 election, I think McChrystal saw the writing on the wall. Hell, we all did, everyone knew that Juan McCain was going nowhere. That election was over as soon as McLame became the nominee. You and I can afford to vote our conscience, but a senior military officer serves at the pleasure of the president. He knew he was in line for the job, and may have wanted to end his career on a high note rather than behind a pentagon desk. Being seen as a supporter of the administration couldn't have hurt his chances. I have no idea what his motives are but that's my theory. Everyone with sense knew 0bama would be a nightmare, but maybe more like Jimmy Carter than V.I. Lenin. Everyone also knew that McLame didn't stand a chance especially after the first debate.

All this aside, if he supported 'The 0ne' it's so much more damning that a supporter has turned on the regime like this. Kind of like operation Valkyrie.

“It’s just going to get worse & only a collapse & true revolution will change things. People are still too satisfied with American Idol & a six pack for a revolution. . We’re BKed, no morals, an uneducated younger class & the most corrupt democracy on the planet. “

I know ... and you are RIGHT!

...I find it pathetic that he now extends a profound apology. Either don't do it or stick to your guns. ...

In one sense I agree with your point, but you have to remember McChrystal is a career military man, who probably has over 30 years in and an O-9 pension. The UCMJ has an article prohibiting military members from making disparaging remarks about any elected officials. I remember this because I was a lowly reservist during the Clinton years and we were always reminded of this.

Do you remember under Clinton all the retired flag officers who would openly criticize policy and the president? Once they're retired they're safe, they have their pension. I know myself I wouldn't want to face a court martial after a lifetime career then have my pension yanked out from under me. I think that's why he did the apology and firing of the aide, to try and prevent being brought up on a UCMJ violation. I have no proof of this, but in his shoes, I might do that.

IMHO given the fact that McChrystal is still an active in theater commander, what he did shows great courage.

Thank you very much for your informative post. Not knowing that regulation I did not stand a chance of having a proper perspective on the issue. Thank you.

BIG FREAKING DEAL!

Obama makes me (& most Americans) angry too!

He is incompetent, childish, stupid, thin skinned, arrogant, selfish, etc., etc. I could go on and on and on but you get my drift!

On their best day, Gibbs and Obama aren't fit to question McChrystal's judgment.

If Obama were a true leader, he would welcome McChrystal's opinions and be taking notes and making changes.

McChrystal is where the tire hits the road and our Afghan strategy is losing traction fast.

Obama confronting McChrystal only shows one thing:

Obama, as uusal is more interested in Obama's political image than strategy and tactics that are costing American lives.

Apparently, McChrystal voted for Obama. Maybe it was a calculation - I know McCain, and he’s abysmal. How bad could Obama be?

I wrote in somebody else. He’s now doing commercials for senior citizen stuff that appear on Sleuth on Verizon FIOS TV.

I think it better that he be fired. Let Obama do it and suggest someone else.

Personally, I think the mask is coming off of this idea that you can change Islam. All you can do is massacre it. It’s all they respect.

Islam is like bamboo. You can cut it back, but if you don’t stay on it, it grows back more aggressively.

That’s my feeling too; we have to see how this plays out. I hope that he did this to put BO’s failure as a leader in the forefront and to help his troops and the effort but for someone who openly admits that he voted for BO and who passively supported BO before the election I am nervous about his intentions. I served under and around quite a few political generals and a new private or airman has more leadership ability than they did. We’ll see.

FUBO
