The top U.S. war commander in Afghanistan told an interviewer he felt betrayed by the man the White House chose to be his diplomatic partner, Ambassador Karl Eikenberry.
An article out this week in "Rolling Stone" magazine depicts Gen. Stanley McChrystal as a lone wolf on the outs with many important figures in the Obama administration and unable to convince even some of his own soldiers that his strategy can win the war.

What’s difference between Gen Stanley McChrystal and Col Walter Kurtz?
Our troops are in terrible danger. They are pawns to this CIC.
For each troop that dies, that’s one more layer of blood on Obama’s hands.
True enough, but I’m convinced he doesn’t care about that. Yes, I said it - he’s unpatriotic.
Well, Michael Yon has been all over McChrystal, accusing him of gross incompetence, and his troops are turning on him because of his ridiculous ROES, which are getting more and more of them killed and yielding the battlefield to the Taliban. So, it appears that McChrystal’s wounds are all self-inflicted, especially if he actually voted for Obama, as the article claims.
Aren’t all military personnel supposed to keep quiet about their political leanings and who they vote for?
All Constitutional amendments except the Bill of Rights to be rescinded, then hold new elections, no incumbents need apply and only INCOME tax payers and veterans should bother showing up to vote, because no one else will be allowed.
And legalize DUELING within the DC limits.
That is absolutely the right answer. However, I'd like to see a DIFFERENT General lead that charge...perhaps Petreaus.
Well, certainly senior officers should be seen as apolitical.
regards,
McChrystal can’t get what he asks for but stays anyway and pushes those under him. If he quit and retired he’d probably be doing more for his men than what he has been doing so far—which appears to be more of a focus on his own career.
” McChrystal himself is described by an aide as “disappointed” in his first Oval Office meeting with an unprepared President Barack Obama. “
” The article claims McChrystal has seized control of the war “by never taking his eye off the real enemy: The wimps in the White House.”
The excerpt quotes soldiers disgusted with McChrstal’s ROEs and cites one specific example of a US soldier getting killed because McChrystal
refused repeated requests to permit a terrorist nest demolished.
Biden hates McChrystal and the feeling is mutual.
McChrystal hates Eikenberry and the feeling is mutual.
The take away-as with everything involving Barry-
his Afghanistan team ( civilian and military ) is dysfunctional and disorganized and involved in personal squabbles .
Another blanking mess courtesy of Obama.
Unfortunately , the US military is paying the price .
Does the U.S. have an extradition treaty with Kenya?
Even if we don’t, put him on a raft pointed towards Kenya
Any officer in uniform that voted for Barak Obama should resign his commission.
McCrystal, if you are stupid enough to vote for Hussein, you need to be releived of your command.
Unbelievable.
