ask yourself... who is demonizing BP? the press and the WH.
why?
because the POTUS is the one responsible for managing/overseeing and such spill... as per a 1994 law signed by bjclinton.
as for extorting $20b from BP... i would have just laughed in his face. he has no authority to make such demands.
especially since oil companies have been paying a tax every year for just this situation. it’s called the oil spill liability trust fund (OSLTF)
what they are doing is like state farm demanding a home owner pay all the costs after a fire, even if the home owner was current on all their payments.
it’s criminal... not that it would stop anyone in congress or the executive branch.
