I’m sure a lot of baby boomer docs will figure out it’s time to retire rather than work for Baraqqi wages and pay Baraqqi taxes.

Then “unexpectedly” there will be a doctor shortage.

No problem. the gubbermint will simply take over, and tell Doctors where to work. Then, like Merrie Olde England, we can import a horde of half-assed moslem quacks from Pockee-stawn to make up the rest of the shortage.

Healthcare the obama way.

Not just doctors. The hospital where my better half works, has worked for 35 years, is talking about a merger with the larger hospital in the closest big city, if that happens, he is out of a job, because the subcontract everything. From there it is a short time before they are closed. Our AG predicted community hospitals would be closing.

The MSM will blame doctors for deaths - doctors will be as popular as BP management...

How long until we get "doctors" with junior college degrees?

No surprise here. I work with several doctors offices and more than a few will be closing within the next couple of years. Those close to retirement will retire early or go into another line of work. Others who still want to treat patients will join hospitals or larger doctor’s organizations (contract positions). Bottom line is fewer American doctors, more foreign doctors. Everyone will be put through a government clinic for treatment. Specialized treatment will have a long waiting list as they do in the UK and Canada. Mortality rates will rise dramatically due to lack of services and quality of care provided. Regardless of what they say all specialized treatment will be determined by panel of bureaucrats who sole job will be to enforce cost/benefit model for treatment. Explanation: If you are still working and paying taxes you have a better chance of getting treatment than if you are 68 and retired. No benefit (taxes) if retired, they will send you home with some pills.

That’s already begun here in the Los Angeles area — numerous docs have already closed up shop!
