To: y'all
Hi-jacking the thread for a second, please bear with me. This is my first Father’s Day with my Daddy residing in Heaven.

Dad’s? Young and old…love your kids, love them to death. Discipline the little boogers! Unless they’re old and well, hopeless like I was. ;)

Read to them!

LISTEN to them!

Take walks with them!

TEACH them something! Woodworking? Fishing? Hunting? Shooting? Just SOMETHING, spend time to teach them something…and be quiet, let THEM talk….it’s amazing what you’ll learn.

Turn the stupid TV off and go do something with your child!

Eat your meals with your family!

Quietly lead a Godly life so that is ALL they see in their Daddy….they’ll get it, trust me, they’ll get it. They’ll always think of their Godly Father by the way you act as their earthly father. Read that again.

My Daddy was, of course !!!!!!!!, the best. That is a very unbiased opinion, so no need to argue with me. Ha!

I know he can’t read this, I know he can’t see it, but I want to thank him for all he did for me …right till the moment he saw Jesus.

Happy Father’s Day, Daddy!!!

And…this is a song that my nephew put together for his Grandpa’s funeral. He had all of his cousins send him their best memory of Grandpa. He then put it to music.

Taking us for ice cream, wherever it was sold
Behind Grandma’s back, for she would surely scold!

He taught us how to fish – to cast and bait the hook
Digging for worms under coffee grounds – the best place to look.

Coming to baseball games all summer long
Right behind home plate just to cheer me on.

The cottage gave us memories, that we’ll never lose,
Fish fry’s and puppet shows, and a good scare too!

Down in the basement where he made the toys
Boats, Ducks, and marble games for us girls and boys.

The Lord gives, the Lord takes away.

Hope will bring us through the hard times in life.
Hope will guide us through all the pain and strife.
Hope is what God gives, to those who call on Him,
Hope is what we have because – we will see you again!

He would take long walks through the neighborhood
Flash that goofy smile when he was up to no good

Cribbage was the game that he would always win
He would always change the rules, whatever worked out best for him!

A natural in the garden, planting and pulling weeds
The way that he would whistle – will always stay with me…

We were all SOOOOO blessed by that man....
