I wonder something, in regards to the present Euro crisis.
How much of the apparent turmoil is simply good old fashioned “Beggar Thy Neighbor” European ‘war by another means’? I mean an armed conflict between European countries, with the exception of little pissant Balkan states that nobody really cares about, is not very likely, and hasn’t been since NATO, but should it really surprise anyone that if Germany gets a chance to bugger England - or France, Spain- that they take it?
I don't believe that Europeans are fighting among themselves. The neighbors they are beggaring are the US and China. Earlier yes, but the plan has been made. The only way the productive nations in the eurozone can bail out the unproductive is if Europe exports their way out of the crisis. For this to happen, they need a weaker Euro. Any appearance of fighting or conflict from now on in euroland is simply an attempt to debase their own currency against the dollar and yuan. They are all actors on the same stage now, trying to make themselves took as bad as they can.
