The Eagles sure know how to keep things fresh and interesting on the road.
For the veteran rockers' new stadium tour, the band, which often performs without supporting acts, recruited none other than the Dixie Chicks and Keith Urban to open shows. (Warning to Urban fans: He's not on the bill for the show at Busch Stadium.)
"We're giving people something for their money not to say they weren't getting their money's worth when they see us by ourselves," Eagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit says. "Normally, we're on a show of our own, but on this one we decided to have a little bit of a summer fest."
Booking the Dixie Chicks was somewhat of a controversial move. Many have yet to move past lead singer Natalie Maines' comments against the war in Iraq and then-President George W. Bush at a 2003 concert in London.

I don’t think Frey and Walsh are libtards.
You know the Eagles are the headline act for Austin’s ACL Festival in the fall. How did the organizers manage to miss signing The Dixie Chicks too? They are made for Austin.
That's a fact!
LOL Bilge pumps aren’t much to look at but I’ve never seen one that made me cringe like that. That is just painful.
Frey is a leftist, just not as outspoken as Henley. In fact it was his idea to do the benefit for Alan Cranston.
She looks like Joran van der Sloot in that picture.
I am as big a fan as it gets when it comes to the Eagles. But, I hate what they did to Don Felder. Moreover, I felt that their "new" album was pretty lame and sounded too country to me. Apparently they are still playing alot of those songs on their tour.
Puleeze. Geezer rock and the Dixie Chicks. Spare me.
Yes. Separated at birth. Only he dresses better.
I don’t care if he’s a liberal, as long as I don’t have to pay to be scolded. Walsh is libertarian in his outlook, I believe.
Joe Walsh is a licensed Amateur Radio Operator (WB6ACU).
In fact he forced Don Felder to attend. Thats when Don Felder smashed a guitar into the pillor out of frustration.
I loved the Eagles. Since Don Felder left ...I can care less.
Plus the prices for their concerts are outragous.
