"Wandered into" the area? He was a hiker, one would speculate he was on a trail...what part of that combo is hard to grasp?
I'm not sure on policy, but it'd be nice if they posted a note at the trail head if they've recently released a bear on the trail.
regardless of whether there was a sign posted or not, when your in these parks you should know better. Mother Nature is merciless and if you forget simple precautions that could save your life tragedies can happen.

The dead guy LIVED there, and the Wildlife service dropped the bear nearby! On top of which, the dead guy wasn't told he had a new neighbor, since bears are the property of the Feds, and he would no doubt have been felonized if he had shot the thing.
It would obviously be your fault if the Feds put an alligator in your swimming pool, and you weren't smart enough to expect it.
Any captured griz should be put down....not relocated..the bear goes back to his old hunting grounds usually...We have idiots working for the government...Bears eat people, don’t they understand that.......we are a defenseless tasty snack...
